Alex Gow Funerals and Albany Creek Memorial Park Crematorium and Cemetery have been creating funerals for the families of Brisbane for over 55 years. Alex Gow Funerals conducted the very first cremation funeral held at Albany Creek Memorial Park when it opened in 1964.

Previously known as Albany Creek Crematorium, it is the longest established crematorium on the north side of Brisbane.

Albany Creek Memorial Park has two chapels, both available for burial and cremation services. This allows the venue to accommodate small intimate memorials, as well as large services. The modern chapels are nestled amongst the tropical parkland and provide the ideal setting for a memorial service.

To ensure each service can be tailored to reflect the life of each individual, each chapel is fully equipped with the latest audio and visual systems for families to play presentations, music, images and video using many popular file formats. Please note if you are planning to create your own photo pictorial please make an appointment a day or 2 before the service to check it is compatible with their audio visual system.

Funeral webcasting is available at both of the chapels where the funeral service is live streamed and recorded for family members and friends to be part of the service if they are unable to attend in person. 

The gardens offer a variety of settings, niche walls, watercourses, natural plantings and rockeries for memorialisation. As a public crematorium, the facilities are available for use by all funeral homes and families, and the grounds are open to visitors every day.

An Alex Gow simple cremation service in either the Garden or Lakeview Chapel starts from $7582.00.

Complete Care Funeral

Many of our families choose the Complete Care option which includes the following:

Meet with you to arrange funeral details in your home or in our office.

• Prepare and lodge all necessary cremation documentation.

• Registration of the death with Births, Deaths & Marriages.

• Your loved one transferred into our care during normal working hours. *

• Qualified mortuary personnel to prepare and dress your loved one.

• Attend to the cremation and all necessary charges at Albany Creek Crematorium.

• Use of the Garden or Lakeview Chapel and multimedia equipment for one allotted time slot, Normal working hours *

• Supply our standard size Polished Teak “Burke” coffin, fully lined.

• Opportunity for a private viewing at Albany Creek Crematorium or Alex Gow Chapel.

• Arrange for a ceremony to be held, provide professional staff to ensure all needs are met.

• Web streaming of service and cloud storage for a short period afterwards.

• Supply of our “Everlasting Memories” Signature book for recording names of those who attend.

• Supply of a 40 x 50cm Canvas print of your loved one to display at the service, yours to keep.

• Trained Funeral staff available at all hours for support and advice.

• No Credit Card Surcharge when funeral payment made. (We accept Mastercard or Visa Only)

Included Options

• Arrange a celebrant or clergy to officiate at the funeral service. (up to $480)

• Provide a Certified Copy of Death Certificate for Estate purposes.

• Provide a spray of bright seasonal flowers to place on the coffin. ($330 Value)

• 30 Professionally designed and printed order of service sheets. (4 Pages @ A5)

• Use of the Bridgeman Lounge for refreshments.

Facilities of Albany Creek Crematorium

Garden Chapel

The Garden Chapel has a unique design and a relaxing atmosphere. The chapel seats 80 guests and has modern facilities that allow families to personalise and record their service. 

Lakeview Chapel

The Lakeview Chapel, which is the newer and larger of the Chapels overlooks the picture perfect, serene lake and beautifully manicured gardens. With seating for over 160 people it provides an ideal setting for a memorial service.

Bridgeman Catering Lounge*

The Bridgeman Lounge is situated in a separate building close to the Chapels, which is convenient for those who are unable to walk long distances. Overlooking the beautiful landscaped gardens and with views of the lake, the Bridgeman Lounge offers a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. This licensed venue is a modern function centre that has two rooms that can be converted to one large room accommodating functions of up to 150 guests.

It is the ideal setting for an after-funeral gathering, available for families Monday to Saturday.

The Bridgeman Lounge offers a range of catering options and also provides for special dietary requirements.

Café & Florist

Albany Creek Memorial Park also offers the convenience of an on-site café, which is open Monday to Friday. The café is a relaxing place to have a light meal and refreshments with friends and family. There is also a florist available next to the café.
